I must admit, I still vaccinate my cat annually against flu and enteritis. Finn only gets a dead flu vaccine and an FeLV jab yearly. There are a lot of our clients increasing the time between vaccinations now, but as yet we are still recommending annual vaccinations as neccessary to the individual. For instance, I would only recommend FeLV vaccine to outdoor cats, but I think that even indoor cats need vaccinating against flu.

A Flu vaccine?
Is it commonly called something else? I have never heard of cats getting a flu vaccine.

I wouldn't necessarily go off the deep end on this one. My vet sends out the same card every year. And Kitty and I go in and the vet says, well, we don't need to give her shots, since she's indoor. So we'll just do an annual exam. They would give the shots were she an outdoor cat, so it's just a yearly reminder.

I like it! Also, they're the ones who first told me she doesn't need those shots yearly, just every three years or so. So, I wouldn't go in expecting them to push the shots. Not all vets are like that. See what they have to say first.

I'm thinking it's the same as what many vets call "distemper", i.e. the FVRCP vaccine, which are the three common feline viruses.
