Default My ears are funny, what's wrong with them?

Hello everybody,my name's Cat and I have a problem.
At the base of my ears(on the back),the skin seems to be separating. So there is a layer of the pink skin and a layer of the skin with the hair on it.it's on both ears, and they're almost identical. It doesn't seem to itch,it doesn't bother me but my owners are worried.
Please put my owners minds at ease and tell me that it's normal.
Thanks,Cat!

there's a little flap at the base of the ears that's normal for cats' ears; I don't know if that's what you're looking at or not.

this isn't a very good picture, but it shows the base of the ear on the outside where the little flap is. is that what you're wondering about?

This is not that flap.
It's at the backside of the ears and it's maybe 1 cm long. It's like the skin separeted into 2 layers, one pink and one brown with fur.And after the 1cm or so it's one layer of skin again.
It doesn't bother her.
I tried to get a picture but my camera is not good enought to get close-ups.
I'll try again tomorrow.

It sounds like the perfectly normal part of the ear area to me.

You can see Ginza's ear here. Is that what you're seeing? It's normal, that's what their ears look like.

Just out of curiosity, is there a biological reason their ears are like that?

We humans also have some strange folds in our ear cartilage - just look at/feel the top of your ear - I bet these are the same kind of flaps that cats have - who knows if there's an evolutionary/biological purpose, for all of us!

Thanks for the kind words for Ginza. He's my little lovebug.

Oh good!! Glad to hear the pic helped. Really? The other cat you saw didn't have them? Hmmm, I know Mozart has folds too, but I don't remember if Kayla or Pixie does too.

Ohhhhhhh, Pixie!!! Where are you? Mommy wants to look at your ears......hey! Where are you running off to?!

EDIT: Yup, took a look at all their ears, all got the same little flaps! Took a while to get to Kayla, though, she seemed to know I was up to something and ran under the cabinet.
