No, you're OK Gudewife. This goes back to my posts a while back in a different thread, that healthy humans are really quite resistant to pathogens in their natural environment. Cats in their natural environment become resistant to their own pathogens, too, but at a fearful mortality rate. Cats in the home are not in their natural environment, and we would not accept a natural environment mortality rate in the home, so it makes sense that we go out of our way to protect them from illness and parasites.

And give them a wonderful, cushy life, they would never have otherwise!

A course of antibiotics is the best thing for a URI (usually just classed as a broad spectrum of 'cat flu' over here in the UK!)

I'd have him checked out just in case. There may be something more going that it's not obvious to you. They'll probably just give him some antibiotics.
