Tim and everyone...thanks for your suggestions! I will try the yogurt. We give that to the dog on occassion, so why not the cats! I do feed them canned food, as well. The little ones get half of a small can each, every other day. My husband is convinced the canned food is what is causing some of the diaherrea, so I've cut it back on the older cat. Does anyone know if canned food causes diaherrea? I think he assumes that since canned is wet food...hence the diaherrea. But I'm not so convinced on that!
Oh, the vet did mention that he cold have IBS, but he wanted to run all these other expensive tests and put him on that special Hills food, which I didn't want to do. So, we're trying other options first! THANKS!!! |

I think the consensus here is that canned food is less likely to cause G-I problems. But like someone said, "every cat is unique". You may never realize your goal of feeding all your cats the same food, but I think you CAN lick this diarrhea problem.

While the consensus on the forum is that canned food is better (which i don't disagree with) I would rather he ate dry and kept it all down than not having any food in his tummy.
