Default Help with litter box problem!!!!

I am getting VERY frustrated with my Nuny. I currently have the Booda Dome Clean Step litter box which has a little stairway to get into the box. Nuny is getting a bad habit of peeing on the stairway. No matter how many times, I reprimand her she doesn't seem to get it. It also has nothing to do with the box being cleaned or the type of litter. Even after a brand new cleaning she'll do that. She knows she's not supposed to do that because when I bring her back to the box to reprimand her she tries to run off. What can I do or use? I'm getting to my wits end cleaning pee all the time. She doesn't pee in the house or anywhere else nor does she have a bladder problem. I like covered boxes because I live in an apartment and it helps with odors and I also need a big one because my younger one is supposed to grow big. Any suggestions????

No, sorry, this technique does not work with cats. She does not understand the reprimand. She only knows that you're mad at her, not what it's for.

I'm sorry, the only useful advice I can give is get her another litter box. One that she will use.

A lot of cats just don't like covered little boxes. You might want to try getting a uncovered one and see how that works.

Take Care,

Mine won't use covered boxes and did the exact same until I went back to traditional boxes

Reprimanding will never work. Like others suggested. Try and uncovered box or maybe just a "normal" extra large covered box.

Booda Dome Clean...cant say I have ever heard of one of those?
So I went and got a picture......

Maybe it is just me but the design of the box does not look very deep once you get inside it....and because it is a circle shape....it also
looks very small in there.

Please dont reprimand the cat....all you are doing is making her afraid of going in the box...which is only adding to your problem!

Now after seeing the picture of the litter box that BoscosMum provided, I'm convinced the box is the problem. I've seen this in pet stores. It's not very big inside. I don't think the design would provide enough ventilation. If I was a cat, I wouldn't like using this, either.

Thanks for your suggestions. I think I may provide her with a covered and uncovered box so that she has the option of choosing which one she wants. And I won't be reprimanding her anymore. I definitely don't want to discourage her or make her afraid of using her box. I'll try getting an extra large one too. Thanks everyone.
