Thought all you would relate to my story. Early this morning Saturday morning) I noticed Polly my 5year old polydactyl was limping. She was holding up her right front paw and limping around. I called the vet and arranged for an appointment to have her looked at. I took a shower and proceeded to get the cat carrier ready. She was nowhere to be found! She does not go outside so we searched the house high and low. I had to call the vet back and we arranged for me to take her in for a later appointment. All day she did not re-appear. I tried opening the can of cat food, banging on the side of a Gerbers baby meat bottle ( she loves that)
but no Polly. Finally at around 8pm tonight she appears. Limping, with a now decidedly swollen paw. I popped her into the carrier and off we went to the all night emergency clinic. Turn out she has some type of infection in her paw and was running a temp of 103.8. She is on antibiotics and will go to see my regular vet on Monday. The night trip cost me $109.00, would have been cheaper had she not gone into hiding. But we love them. One more thing, a cute sign in the vets office - Cats Rule, Dogs Drool. |
