Ok, I have 4 cats (2 which are persians) and 2 dogs shihtzus and a fish! I am adopting another persian
This is a pucture of Annie a calico persian who will be 2 in March. I LOVE persians and just LOVE keeping them groomed etc..its like a hobby of mine! She will be fixed in February (Im getting her at the end of the month, 10 hours away). So my question is, how much is too much critters? Mine and more than loved and get vet care, all are also spayed/neutered. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I am also a vegetarian due to ethical reasons. Am I insane????? My husband said this is it! Out of respect and love for him it is! She is from the breeder that I got Paris from and offered me 7 total and I had to turn 6 away ![]() ![]()

depends on finances, time, and tolerance for mayhem.
the most important thing is providing a good home. that takes money and time. tolerance is necessary because no pet is perfect. for some people, one pet is too many, because they can't or won't provide a good home. you have to evaluate yourself BEFORE you bring an animal in. once you have some pets in your house, if you're at your wits end, or if you don't have enough time or money, getting another is lunacy. for me, right now, three is enough. |

I aggree with you. Financially I can afford it right now for some vet care the rest goes on VISA and I have never, ever denied an animal care. I spent $1000 trying to save a 22 yearl old with renal failure and have no regrets! Tomorrow I have to pay $150 for my cat for blood work shots etc... and another $400 apprx. at the end of the month for dental work and extractions. Some have come into my life without a good personality and very little human contact but that gave me more bonding time with them and I have no regrets getting them.
I beleive this is enough too. I love my dogs to death but after them, no more dogs for me. Maybe Ill change my mind but maybe I wont. I am truly a cat person and I think 5 is enough unless one finds me and needs me.

It depends on what you can afford , including emergencies. I love cats, and would have more than I have if I could afford it, but I can't you have to consider also where you live( I live in an apt. and can't have too many animals), My dream is to win the lotto and open up a sanctuary for animals, because I love them so much. BTW I love your cats......

I think it is a personal thing. We have one cat and one dog and that is enough for us. They get top of the line medical care, treats and the best food. We also give them plenty of love and cuddling. If you have the time, money, love and desire then by all means have as many cats as you and your husband want.
We can financially afford more pets, but we both work full time and don't the time to spoil anyone else. |
