Default Cat food question

I know this isnt great food to give my cats but i was on a budget and they actually like it. Meow mix packets of wet food.
But i have been looking into different kinds and i dont no what to try. I know they hate iams, so whats something reasonable in price to great. Its strange, they are picky, but iams and i forgot science diet they will not eat. Maybe they have a thing for the cheap stuff! ideas?

Try looking for Nutro Natural Choice. It comes in pouches, has good ingredients, and I think most of the chain pet supply shops carry it. Also, I think it's fairly reasonable in price, and comes in chunky/sliced form for cats that don't like the ground pate style of food. You won't be able to find it at the local grocer's, but I'm pretty sure that places like PetsMart carry it (someone correct me if I'm wrong, I don't go to the big stores often, but I think I remember someone saying it was fairly easy to find compared to stuff like Wellness/Felidae type food.)

I second that, I switched to Nutro Natural in the pouches and my kitties just love it!!!! They will not eat ground food at all, so in order for me to give them good quality food I chose Nutro, and I am very happy with the results.

(I sound like a spokes person for Nutro. ) I am really this happy with it though.

Melissa - be sure to phase it in gradually. start by mixing in just a little of the new food with the old, and increase the new a little each day. this is to avoid "tummy upset" which sometimes, but not always, occurs when a kitty is given different food. the switchover should last at least a week. sometimes longer. watch your cats to see how they're responding. if their poo gets too soft, they're not adjusting to the new food.

You know it actually cost less to feed Innova than Fancy Feast or Meow Mix.
A 14 ounce can of Innova cost about $1.14 and it feeds 2 cats per day.
SO that cost .57 cents per day for one cat.
Meow Mix 3 ounce pouches cost about .38 cents and it takes 3 pouches per day to feed just one cat. That is $1.14 per day for one cat.

Dawn, I've been trying to make that point for the longest time. You spelled it out though, so it will probably make more sense to everyone than the way I have said it before. Good job!

HeHeeHeee!!!

I am so jazzed up about it! I bought 1 can of the Innova and both cats are WILD for it! Such a good feeling!
I went to the store today and bought the last 4 cans and ordered 24
more cans. I hope to change up the brand every month.

You can save money buy purchasing the larger cans.

Yes, I always buy the larger cans when i can. It's WAY cheaper.
Good for you for finding something they agree on. Innova did well here too, so does Petguard - they both love it.
