Default Starving kitty!! Help!

My cat went missing a week ago and has turned up today painfully thin.
We searched everywhere and put flyers in all the houses but she turned up today with a black oil smudge on her neck so I assume she's been locked in a garage somewhere unable to find food.

So my question is how should I feed her?
I've given her some dry food like she normally has except I'm giving her the kitten variety as I figure it has more nutrients in it. (We have a kitten also) I've also given her a little cat milk which she adores.
I want to give it to her slowly so as not to make her sick but I have no idea exactly how much I should be giving her. How much and how often?
She obviously wants more but I don't want to push it.
My vet just said go slowly but I don't know what that means.
Her normal routine is to eat very little as often as she wants because I always leave food down for them. Both of my kitties are not big kitties to start with and are not big eaters but my little starving kitty wants to EAT!

Can anyone please give me some advice. I'm so happy to see her, we were convinced she'd been caught by a fox. Poor thing.

Also what should I do about letting her out? She is very outsidesy and doesn't use a little box but I'm worried to let her out again especially when she's so thin. Should I just keep her in until she is better and make her use a littler box (although no ones ever made this firecracker of a cat do anything lol)

Thanks everyone.

Hi Mynx,

I would feed her some wet food every hour (very small amounts) and I would also keep her in until she has put on some weight.

See I wonder if wet food would be better but then she's always had dry since she was a kitten.
Is wet food less likely to hurt her belly?

I think she will be able to digest the wet food better than dry, but I would feed her whatever she prefers. Perhaps try her on some wet food and if not then go onto the dry food.

I think when the vet said about feeding her slowly he meant to space out her food a little and not just to feed her in one go.

Also as she is drinking her cat milk I would let her have plenty of that as well.
