Default Kitten/Cat Treats

Hello, I am looking for some advice on nutritional store bought Kitten/Cat Treats. My kitten Monte is a 4 month old Sphynx. When we got him he had major GAS problems. We talked to our vet and he suggested we stop feeding Iams Kitten and instead try Eukanuba Kitten Chicken & Rice Formula. That has worked great, but now it is his treats that are giving him gas. I had purchased "Pounce" treats and man he was letting them rip !!! I looked at the ingredients and it was all fillers, so I went to the pet store and looked at every cat treat they had and all of them were packed with almost 100% fillers. I also noticed that the Premium Brand Cat Food Brands did not make cat treats. Please let me know what has worked for you.

Maybe you could just buy a small bag of one of the super-premium dry cat foods and use the individual kibbles as treats.

There are also the freeze dried liver treats... they're %100 liver.

Although i've read here that high amounts of liver is not good for a cat, so i'd look into this one more.

The store I go to, it's a holistic independant store, has lots of natural type treats. I know you can't find them in grocery stores, or most big chain stores, but keep lookin, you'll find something!

Bailey seems to like Liv A Little treats by Halo. They come in four or five different flavors (we use cod fish flavor). They are 100% freeze dried meat. No fillers. Nothing but meat!

They are a little pricey, but I usually only give her half of one a day, because they are very strong.

Old Mother Hubbard (the makers of Wellness) do make cat treats and they have the same ingredients as their cat food. You can get these at PetCo.

We feed Marli Old Mother Hubbard since she is on a Wellness diet. Kitty Kaviar is also good for occasional feeding and Liv a Little look good to me as well. You might look at Organix as well.

I did my research by going to Petfooddirect.com and clicking on treats and checking each brand out. They are the only site I know that lists the full information on all foods and treats they carry, so, even if you don't buy from them, you can educate yourself there.

Fortunately, while most treats traditionally have been fillers and filled with grains and corn, there are quite a few premium treats which are nutritionally good. Another advantage of Old Mother Hubbard is that there are many different flavors.
