ohh noo.
There is a bigger chance of them choking on their milk/drink that way because of the way their windpipe goes or something. You wont have hurt them, you might have heard some caughs or something. Dont worry |

I really would seek a second opinion, this is NOT joint ill. Your kittens could have any number of diseases or infections, and it is very difficult to diagnose tiny kittens, but I feel you have not been given enough advice & support by your vet. In my opinion, these babies could do with being hospitalised for intensive supportive therapy.

Here's a description of joint ill. It occurs in newborn of horses, goats, calves, dogs, cats, ... The symptoms are pretty common to other diseases, except for the inflammation of the joints and the lameness. You can find it also under searches for cats and arthritis or polyarthritis.
http://cal.vet.upenn.edu/saortho/chapter_37/37mast.htm A second vet, especially one that also handles horses, is called for. EDIT: You might also look up the Calicivirus as some of the online sources indicate that the illness may cause short-term arthritis in kittens. In either case, it looks like the vet will prescribe some meds to alleviate the symptoms or to prevent secondary infections, and hope for the kittens to fight off the virus. |
