Default Titers

I have titers run on my dog. When I requested the same for my cat I was told that they don't have a titers test for cats as of yet. My vet uses Cornell for titers on dogs. For those of you who have titers run on your cats where are the tests being sent?

What titers are you talking about? What are you trying to have the cat checked for?

I would rather not continue to re-vaccinate with boosters yearly. Of course rabies is a must every 3 years in Ohio so that it a given but I would rather test to see if her previous kitten shots have provided enough antibodies to warrant not continuing with yearly vaccinations.

This is what I do with my dog and so far she has never had to receive any boosters and has been fully covered since her initial puppy shots.

We've sent rabies titers on a few cats going overseas (its a must for them to be let into some countries) so I know it can be done. I think we used Kentucky University (somewhere in Kentucky anyway) for ours.

I'm not sure how to go about finding more information though but chance are you can find it if you look hard enough.
