Salamanders....Does any one know if they are toxic to kittys? I have an enclosed patio and at night these creatures come out from under things and my kittys had one it wasn't dead and i took it away yuk! but I noticed that they had sticky all around thier paws I assumed from the creature. So I am wondering if they will get anything from them? It has been 16 hrs and I see no signs of anything but I thought I would put it out there. Thanks for any help

Secretions from the neck glands of some salamanders are highly toxic. However, they are neutotoxins and their effects are immediate. If your cats have no reactions by now they should be all right.
