I picked up a couple of Solid Gold cans recently and fed one to the boys last night. They LOVED it! Of course, it was the tuna variety, so it was bound to happen. The thing is that my store only carries the tuna cans. They don't carry the turkey/chicken/white fish can.
If fish is so bad for cats as a frequent meal, why does Solid Gold only have cat canned food with fish in it? Also, would feeding these cans twice a week for dinner be detrimental to my boys' health in any way? I'm feeding Wellness for dinner the rest of the time. We tried California Natural cans, but they didn't seem to like those very much. Thank you! |

Tuna, because of it's high mercury content, is not a good choice anyway if you want to feed fish, the safest thing is to avoid it altogether. It will take some time before you find out how much fish how often is safe for your boys. Some cats do well on a small amount once or twice a week, for others even that's too much. |

Hmm...I would have thought that a company like Solid Gold would be more mindful of what is best for the cats rather than what is cheapest for THEM to produce.
I will ask the store to order the other variety for us. Thanks for the advice! |
