Default Buddy's ear is NOT getting better!!! *GOOD NEWS!*

I'm actually kinda annoyed, but i dont know where to direct the annoyance... My poor Buddy is SO depressed, and i KNOW he's hurting. And his ear looks worse now than it did with the original hematoma! PLUS there's fluid draining, which is clumping his fur around his ears, which i've been cleaning twice a day, but in places his fur has just pulled out in chunks (no matter how careful i am, it's just so clumped, even soaking it with water isn't really helping) that there's a raw spot near his ear now, where the hair's pulled out, and it looks like it's bled some. With the hematoma his ear was a fluid bubble, well now there's a bigger bulge, but it's a solid MASS. His ear is a solid mass. I dont know what to do and it just makes me want to cry for him. He's lost his appetite, (I have to bring kibble to him and put it right infront of his nose for him to nibble on it, he wont touch wet right now at all.) I don't know how much water he's drinking. HELP ME!!!

Stitches are supposed to come out of his one ear (which is FINE) on Thursday... and his bad ear was expected to heal by then. Well it's not improving, it's just getting worse. I'm calling on Monday first thing to see if I can bring him in... (I'd be in their office today, but they're closed sundays and only open for REAL emergencies...)

I'm so sorry.

Will he eat baby food? Probably the most important thing is to try to keep him eating until he starts feeling better. Poor guy...give him a hug for me.

Poor Buddy

I'm so sorry for both of you. It hurts so badly to see your baby in pain or suffering, whether they be human or furr-baby.

I know how hard it is. I cried for a week after poor Jazz was put through the "double spay" ordeal and blamed myself for not considering the possibility that she may have already been spayed. She was so young I didn't see how...

But, that is over and done with so now all love, hugs and kitty-kisses go out to Buddy. Get well soon, Buddy. We will be sending love and healing hugs your way!

I KNEW it!! The vet I'd seen last week and on Monday I did NOT like much at all, she was filling in for my regular vet, and just rubbed me the wrong way. She was rushed, rough and not paying much attention to Buddy. She was the one that told me he needed surgery again today. When I went in this morning, I asked to see Mary (my regular vet) before just dropping him off. I didn't think surgery was necessary, but wanted to get her opinion. Turns out, his hematoma has NOT returned, it is mostly swelling and scartissue (like i'd suspected as it has been healing the past few days), and she pierced it with a needle and any blood that was in there (not much really) drained out. She gave me ear drops for him, as she suspects he's getting an ear infection. But surgery was NOT necessary! She even said I have good instinct lol

Awww...way to go, Buddy! I am so glad no surgery is needed

Irresponsible vets! Bah! Someone who doesn't take the time to be gentle and thorough has no business working with animals OR people...and a vet practice is both!

I hope you never have to deal with that vet again! Yay for Buddy on healing properly! I'm so happy for both of you!
