I'm not getting into that discussion.
My two cents - My kittens were all S/N around 3 mths. Required for the shelter to release them. I insisted on speaking with the shelter vets before I allowed anything, and the discussions were very good. Main concerns: - The tinier the kitty, the tinier the parts, so the more experience is needed. The shelter vets/techs did so many a day that they were very knowledgeable. - Perhaps the urethra didn't develop properly if snipped too early (narrow = greater chance of blockage), but apparently the studies are not bearing this out. Someone else may have more updated info? If your vet wants to do it at 5-6 mths, that's fine - still the norm. I wouldn't want the vet doing something he's not used to doing - greater chance of something going wrong, or missing a part. Just keep your kitty indoors and away from any intact kitties until then. Oops! Posted at the same time, just saw the "it's resolved". Glad it's done and over with, wishing kitty *quick healing*. I'll leave the previous post for anyone else who's interested.
