I wanted to update on the emaciated kitten I asked for help with... you can find my old post here... http://www.catforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=21995 . He has gained a good amount of weight in just one week. He is doing just great. Let me know if you would if you think he might be ready to go back to the rescue and go up for adoption. His brother who was slightly thin is no longer thin at all. The little one, pictured, you can still feel his hip bones slightly. In one picture, you can kind of see it a little if you look close. But I think over all, he is healthy. Also, they look like Bengal crosses to me. Anyone else? I heard Bengals take special care and seem to be a little more wild than your average housecat so it might be a good thing to know when adopting them out...
Here's the before and the after pictures that I found were similar in stance so you can tell the difference better... And here's more photos for the fun of it... [/url] |

I think its still early days to send them back. I would keep them for at least one more week, just to make sure all is well and they have noillnesses, etc. And I just think they are regular tabby DSHs, so there need be no special precautions when adopting them out. Good job with them!

I also think they are tabbies. Forgot which thread it was in, but someone gave great thumbnails of different tabby markings. I think these are the "ticked" tabbies for the most part. Also the "M" on the face.
They are beautiful kittens! I think you should just keep them. |

Thanks guys. The rescue comes into town for an adoption day just about a mile from me next Saturday, so it looks like a perfect day. I think they are doing so well and I'd keep them if I were allowed. Anyways, this opens up another opurtunity to take in another foster. The rescue was thrown 4 seal point siamese purebreds that are not feral but not friendly either. They are from a cattery that threw them out because they are past their prime. I get to socialize one at a time, that's all I think I can handle. Do you guys know the best way to socialize an adult? Thanks for all the comments by the way. I thought I'd also give you their personalities...
The smaller, Buddy, is very affectionate and purs constantly. He's more active and playful and loves people. The larger, Linx, is a little more withdrawn, but content to sleep on your lap for hours and hours. Thank for everything, Amber |
