Default List of common toxic plants - esp. around the holidays?

Does anyone have, or know where I could find, a list of plants that are toxic to cats? I'm particularly interested in plants that come into our homes around Christmas. We want to bring in some live decorations this year (pine or laurel garlands, etc.), but also need to take into account the fact that our cat LOVES to munch on any and all flora we bring into her domain.

I know pointsettias are bad news, but are there others?

emrldsky,

I noticed that honeysuckle is on the list of poisonous plants. If it's poisonous to cats, then why do people give their cats honeysuckle as an alternative to catnip?

I have no idea. I didn't write the list.

You can find many lists if you google "plants toxic to cats."

Cool, thanks for the link - I noticed they also have a link to a survey about cats eating plants: http://intercom.virginia.edu/SurveySuit ... ndex2.html

I think, with Honeysuckle, it's only the berries (of certain species)that are poisonous. I think the catnip alternatives are made with the bark?
That's an extremely extensive (and good)list, however it includes plants that are mild skin irritants. Pretty much covers everything under the sun! I got a list from my local Poison Control (which I can't find now!) that rates the plants 1-4. One being life threatening and 4 a mild skin irritant. It's a little less terrifying. If all those plants were really toxic we wouldn't have a wild animal population!
I do know that pointsettia and lilies are extremely toxic.
If I can find the info for the rated list I'll post it.
Found it! www.calpoison.org click on toxic plants

Lilies can cause the kidneys to go belly up quickly in kitties- very bad news! The toxicity of Poinsettias, on the other hand, has been overrated. They cause pretty nasty upset tummies, and therefore should be kept out of reach. But, they rate pretty low on the toxic plant totem pole.

Some other holiday dangers- tinsel (like any string, can bind up the intestines), chocolate (especially darker versions), onion powder/onions
