Default is my cat crazy?

I think my cat Moe (who you might remember from when I posted about him losing his voice) is crazy. He is 14 years old and recently has started acting very out charchter. Now this cat is treated like a king and I dont think it is a lack of attention. Let me just get to the point he has been going outside like usual but when he is out there he cries at the window to come back in, so we let him in then almost straight away he wants to go back out, so we bring him in then he wants to go out etc etc this can last about an hour. Sometimes when he does go out he just sits there crying we go to pick him up and he moves away and starts crying again. He also gets up onto the roof and cries so we go rescue him and bring him in and as soon as he goes out he is up on the roof again.
Inside the house is even odder Moe has taken to climbing everything and trying out new places to sleep. He has been found on top of cupboards (one cupboard we are still not sure how he got on as there is nothing to jump from and the cupboard is 7ft at least), under beds, window sills etc. Mum also found him in the shower sleeping right under a dripping tap (this is odd as even the sound of a dripping tap gets him nervous).
The only physical symptom is that he is sheding fur and bald patches are showing. Sometimes there are scabs and signs of wounds in these bald patches. he does have an allergy to flees but has been treated and even when the fleas do come he only gets flaky skin and scratchy.
He doesnt seem to be scratching heaps like he would if he had flees. Mum was wondering if he is ripping the fur out.
Hope someone can tell me whats wrong with him[/img]

It sounds like Moe needs to take a trip to the vet. A sudden change in behavior like that could mean there is a health issue. Sounds like it could possibly be hyperthyroidism but there's no way of knowing without a full check up (including total blood and urine testing)
Good luck and let us know how he's doing!

Yep, the Vet, he's a Senior Citizen and I would get the blood, urine for hyperthyroid and kidney funtion. Our vet offers a full plan for seniors' to cut out some of the cost of all the different testing.

You'll want to catch a problem with the kidneys right away. He's trying to tell you something, and some time it take's a Good Vet to decifer Cat Code.

Another chime for the vet visit. He is an elderly cat, and needs a wellness exam. 14 cat yrs old is about Grandpa's age or older. All the symptoms you described sounds like senility, so you and your Mum will need instructions on how to care for him in his old age, as he continues to lose his memory. Some supplements may help alleviate some of the symptoms too.
