Nope not that much to care for a paralyzed kitty that has no other issues. It is breaking my heart that so many kitties like that are euthanized. We just lost our beautiful Rocko, but we had 5 years with an amazing animal. His bills were not anymore than my other kitties. I learned to make is diapers from baby diapers, and I used femine pads in them. That way a diaper lasted two weeks, so his "backend cost" were about $20 a month.
I acutally just found Sketches on facebook and am waiting to see if she was adopted again....she was once and the sent her back! I want to bring her home to us

I agree

On a side note, that is not the profile of a Bengal kitten (nor the behaviour of a proper breeder) and many kittens have no whiskers as their mums or littermates chew them off - they weren't necessarily cut off.

My view of the ASPCA and the city shelters has become rather jaded, especially after reading how the ASPCA and the city shelter in New York both managed to miss the fact a cat had a leg shattered in 50 places, between them they had Gloria in their care for 15 days and didn't notice it. When the ASPCA no longer wanted her they dumped her in the City Shelter, who then wondered why in her assessment she was laying down and staying in place, which goes towards her rating to see if she would be on the Euthanasia list, which she was, fortunately she was rescued.

On the note of the dumped kitten, each case has to be judged on its own really I suppose and how the life of the cat will be, ie in pain etc.
