Default Yellow and Gray-ish colored cat?

I adopted a cat who is yellow (or I think the technical term is "buff" colored). He's a tabby so he has stripes but the really interesting thing is that his lighter stripes are a light grayish color rather than white or a lighter yellow shade. I've never seen this coloring before. Has anyone else?

Pictures would help us see the coloring of your kitty.

I was thinking the same thing about pictures.

he's definitely a boy. lol. He needs to be neutered. I don't have him yet but my friend is bringing him to get neutered in Friday (he's a stray in her neighborhood) and then I'm bringing him home. I'll post some pics then.

I found a pic on my phone. You can't really see what I'm talking about and I'll try to get better pics on Friday.

He's a dilute orange tabby for sure. I bet his stripes will get a bit less grey after you bring him in...looks like he's got some dirt ingrained in his fur and once he's had a chance to groom that out without getting any more dirt on him the grey tinge will go away.

Love how his blaze goes down one half of his nose.
