So, about two weeks ago, after much discussion within our family we all finally decided that we're ready for another kitten. My sister and I were so excited at the thought of getting a new feline companion, we couldn't care less about gender, color, size, or age. My mom wanted to try a boy, and surprisingly enough she wanted a kitten.
After looking at the shelter webpage, we decided to just go and meet some kitties, and so we visited a local pet store that helped adopt out cats, and usually held five or so cats at a time. All of them were gorgeous and at least older than a year. That was where we first found Jake, just sleeping on the counter. It was honestly love at first sight for all of us. While petting Jake and asking about the adoption process we heard that another family had recently called and were interested in Jake and would possibly be coming to see him, and my heart stopped and the thought of losing him. Needless to say we got directions to the shelter so that we could fill out his forms, and off we went, but when we got there we decided to look around the shelter at first, just to see what other cats were there, while risking losing Jake.
No other cat caught our eye the way Jake did, he just stole our hearts the minute we met him. It was a busy day so we rushed out, and waited in line with baited breath hoping the other family hadn't gotten there before us, and thankfully he was still available! That was how we got our 1 1/2 year old Jacob, and I couldn't be happier with our choice.
His first day here went more smoothly than I could have hoped, he only hid when he heard a loud noise, which was usually us, and after about a minute he would come out to investigate and see what was going on. He cuddled with us from day one, and rarely leaves my side when I'm home, I'm so happy we we're lucky enough to get him.
Now, sorry about that long story, but it's picture time at least
I wish I had better pictures, but all I have is my phone to take pictures on.
That's Jake looking bright and alert on day 1.
The only time I'm able to get a picture of him when he's awake is when he's tuckered out from his favourite feather toy.
Honestly my favourite picture of him so far, he just goes into a coma like state when he falls asleep, this his him during one of those times.
