Just wanted to see if there are any fellow Ocicat owners... I have three of them, and just love 'em all! Here's Austin, Archer, and Dizzy. Austin is the only one who has spots, he's a chocolate spotted. Dizzy is a chocolate solid and Archer is a cinnamon silver classic (tabby).

First, welcome!
I don't know any Ocicat owner on Cat Forum, but we do have a member named Spotty Cats here. I'm pretty sure she (he?) owns a lot of Ocicats However, it is the first time I ever heard that there are non-spotted Ocicats? I know CFA, TICA, FIFE, and GCCF only accept spotted pattern in Ocicat standard. Where are your cats registered? I'm just curious if it's a new "trend" in this breed

It's nothing new, there have always been other coat patterns in the Ocicat. Along with the spotted variety, there are also solid colors, classic (swirl) tabby, and ticked (like an Abysinnian). Only the spotted Oci's can be shown, so other patterns usually go to pet homes. Or if they are very exceptional in all other ways, they can be bred and can produce spotted coats.
I have lots of photos... will upload more as time permits! |
