Phantom Louie

Phantom Louie is a lovely little black cat that roam our neighborhood. He wears a collar with a name tag on it and that is how I know his name. I believe he lives at the end of our street.

Louie is so darned cute. I will pull up in front of my house and as soon as he realizes it is me he will come running. He is a talker and loves to be petted. If our front door is open he will sit on the porch and look in the door hoping that I will either let him in or that the cats will come and talk to him.

Tonight I went out the back door to take out the garbage and I he quickly jumped over the fence to help me. I put out some food and water for him since it was dark (I have a hard time turning him down) and took a few pictures.

What a cutie! He looks young. Is he someone's pet or a stray, or do you know? I hope the poor guy has not been abandoned. Do you have 5 at home now??

Louie lives with a family about 6 houses away from me. He is not skinny, just a small framed kitty. I think that he is about 3 or 4 years old with the sweetest disposition. I really worry about him wandering the neighborhood since we lives on a busy road, but I don't have any say of course.

I'd sneak him into my house in no time if I could .

And yes, we are down to only 5 cats. Our house seems kind of empty.

Maybe Phantom Louie is trying to tell you something. And while you may not have any say in him wandering around the neighborhood, maybe you can mention your concern to the neighbors. What's the worse that can happen if you say something?

It's amazing how much presence cats have. When we lost Smokey, we were back down to three cats, the original number of cats we owned before he came to us. After he died, and even though we were used to having three cats, it didn't feel right. That hole was too big to ignore. That's why I'm so glad Smokey sent Momo to us.

Black cats are so cool looking! And I LOVE the name Louie! I might have to steal that one for my next cat What a sweetie!
