People living in apartments that don't allow pets, pay $9/hr to visit a cat cafe and spend an hour with the cats. Some gorgeous kitties here. Not sure how I feel about the Persian with the shaved tail, though. (A little over half way through the video). Aren't we lucky to be able to actually have cats???

wow that's really interesting! Thanks for sharing! I bet those people are thrilled when they learn they can go to an animal shelter and play with the cats all day for free! (at least here you can). Compared to prices of other things in Japan $9 (or $16) is fairly cheap. I went to Tokyo a few years ago and it was almost $10 for a meal an McD's.

Another reason why I feel blessed to live where I do! I love having my kitties around...although I heard that they are allowed to have more than one child now over there! >.<

... you're thinking of China. One-child policy - Wikipedia
Japan has an entire cat island, though... but I'd say it had nothing to do with cat population, and everything to do with the fact that Japan has a lot of crazy eating environments. I imagine the fact that a lot of apartments there ban pet ownership contributes to the cat cafe popularity. |
