Just as an experiment, I thought I'd start a TV thread to let people know what's on the telly. It might not work that well considering the wide variety of countries people are from, but as it's fairly easy to find tv programs online nowadays, people (legal means only please, obviously), then people can still recommend things.
The Proms is on at the moment, and with an even wider range of music than ever before, it should have something to suit most tastes. I would also recommend the very very good BBC four documentaries on various important musical figures. The ones on John Lennon and Johnny Cash were very good.

I can tell you what I'm looking forward to next week. William Shatner has a new show on the Bio channel where he interviews people who have been in the news over the past 10 or 20 years, and one of the first people he's interviewing is Mary Kay LeTourneau. Can hardly wait.

Right. She was the one who started a relationship with a 6th grader (in our system, that's 11 years old), thought they were soulmates, and risked her family of 4 kids in order to be with him. By the time they had 2 kids together she was jailed for 7.5 years, but got out early for good behavior and then married the guy. It's an unbelievable story and one I just saw on a made-for-TV movie about it, and it really piqued my interest.

I missed it, but my colleagues recommended it to me. I shall take a look on iPlayer.

Yeah, it's pretty amazing. The people I feel the sorriest for are her first 4 kids, who she pretty much threw over because of her love for Vili. How exactly would a kid reconcile to themselves that their mother was willing to leave them because of her love for a 12-year old????

I have always enjoyed Sherlock Holmes. I assigned the story, "Hound of the Baskervilles," to my English class. His old movies are still on TV, the ones with Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce. Since they are period pieces, they don't seem to be old fashioned.
I like the TV show, Medium. It's in reruns now, but I usually watch the show anyway!

Holly, I tried watching William Shatner's talk show last season, but found it very annoying. The camera work, him talking over his guests, etc. Very bizzare program. But his new series, $&*! My Dad Says, looks very funny. Especially if you've been following it these past few months on the internet.
Being Human just started again on BBC America. Yay!
