Any Tweeters here? I'm curious what it's all about, and if it would be beneficial to have since I'm just starting on Etsy?

Utterly utterly pointless.

It's one of the few things I agree with David Cameron about.

As far as I've heard, it's about telling the world all about what you're doing or feeling in something like 250 characters or less. I'd rather not bother so I've never visited the site on principle. If someone wants to tell me what they're doing they can make it a little more personal by phoning me or at least specifically texting me.

I just don't see the value of Twitter for a small business. Celebrities with thousands of people wanting to know what they ate for lunch and whether it gave them gas...sure. Us little businesses where people are only mildly interested...not so much. A Facebook page does the job well and is enough imo.

No one ever wants to know if I have gas. Now I'm sad.

As for twitter, I have an account but I just don't see the point in it. If I want to tell people something I'll just post it on FB....

Ok, well, I wasn't even mildly interested in going through with it, unless it would help, but I think I've got my answer. Thankfully.

Anybody have any tips for drawing attention to a Facebook fan page? I've never been big on Facebook either, and since my personal page is strictly only family, I don't have a list a mile long on there to pull from.

A feature on some new cars now is the ability to get to Twitter and Facebook. From your car!!!!

I think there are going to be a lot of Tweets along the lines of
"It a quiet day so I'm.....aaaahhhhhhhh"

I haven't worked very hard on my FB page (and it shows). But put a link on your Etsy page if they allow it and in your signature on your emails. Ask friends and family to "like" your page and share your posts with their contacts.

I've gotten much more mileage from my weekly email newsletter (which also includes a FB link).

A couple of my friends each have Etsy shops and a good lot both of their sales come from Twitter.

Have you also set up a facebook page so you can market there?
