I was in Petco on my lunch break getting kitty litter and i saw the little plastic containers with Betta fish in them...i remembered that I have an empty 10 gallon tank at home, and I figured I might as well give one of these little guys a nice home. I had one years ago in my 10 gallon, and they really thrive. They are actually quite intelligent little fishies and contrary to popular belief, are not meant to live in little tiny bowls. Can't wait to get him home, he is keeping me company in my cube for the rest of the day
Any name suggestions??

cute!! i love bettas!! he looks just like my last one, that passed away last year..you are right they are intelligent! i swear he would recognize me when i would come up to the glass and swim excitedly
i wanna get another one, but hubby is convinced the cats will get into the tank. i feel like i trust the kitties a little better than that (as long as we secure the lid) and watching him swim would provide entertainment for them... i thought about getting one for work but not sure how long i'll be here lol... that's a whole nother story though =) i'm not very original but he looks like a max, or charlie to me.. I am a little worried about the cat situation too, allthough the tank has a pretty secure lid and I am going to put it in my bedroom, so if it becomes a problem I can just keep the door closed to keep Banjo out.
Max isn't bad...funny that you said Charlie, that's my Cockatiel's name I was worried about the filter I have with my last Betta, because it had a really strong flow and Bettas are pretty delicate fish. Well, he loved it! it was a little game he played, he would swim along the top and into the flow, ride it to the bottom, then do it all over again! I also felt like he recognized me, and would swim back and forth all excited when I got close to the tank. |
