November starts tomorrow and this morning Midnight, the wild cat, came back from his nightly travels and went into his inside the garage Winter house!
Sure it was only in the low 20's - not cold by MN standards or even Midnight's. But it does signal a change. I even turned on the heater in his house to test it. I already have his heated water bowl plugged in. The water sources for the birds and deer also have their heaters installed. And so it begins.

We had snow showers yesterday for the first time. Unlike Midnight, the wild cat, I do not like that cold and would like my early fall temps back, thank you very much.

So not ready for winter! I can't even find my winter jacket!
That Midnight sounds like one very lucky cat! A heated house?!

It rained all summer here - but I do live in what is most years the wettest district in the UK - so I barely feel there's been a gap in teh saeasons! We had a touch of snow yesterday but not much but our semi-feral Princess Tramp has been spending more time inside (surrounded by the youngsters who adore her) which is a signe the seasons are changing.

I finally turned on the heat to my house last night after the outside temps dropped below freezing and found ice on my patio. It has been getting cold for a while, but I had some weather proofing and winterizing to do first. After the recent storm just could not put it off anymore.
I’m now a little worried about a cat that’s been sleeping on my front porch. I’ve been planning on building it a home and have it all planed out, but just haven’t had the time. I threw some old blankets out and it does not appear that it’s using them. So now I’m going to have to just throw something together real quick until can build my original cat house. |
