Flowers on Mars?

Has anyone been following this story? What do you think?

Is it a flower? Space-probe debris? Something else?

To me it looks like a cocoon. A bi-podal cocoon,which I dont think any earth creature makes.

oh, I thought it was just like a large grain-of-sand size shiny pebble. The veins, suggesting past water flow, however, are definitely intriguing.
