I'm a licensed Residential Contractor. Building homes and doing remodels. I'm one of the few women in the field. I'm contemplating getting my commercial license just so I can be busier. I like being my own boss. I'm a control freak so me calling all the shots, works for me! Its either feast or famine with this type of job.

I do TNR and rescue.

kittylion, I have so much respect for secondary school teachers, in part because of the bad behavior that they must have to deal with. I just don't have enough patience. On the other hand, bad behavior often does continue into college. Sometimes, they grow up, sometimes they just become obnoxious adults.

my4kitties, good choice of language!

I'm a French professor. Absolutely love teaching (but hate correcting papers), advising and working with students, interacting with my colleagues (most of them, anyway), doing scholarly research when I have the time (rare), being able to go to France as part of my job... But I could do without everything else about academia.
Oh my, do I feel sorry for you! Haha. I took French my last two years at Indiana University and I feel so bad for my instructors. I am absolutely the worst. I am thinking about taking night classes at a community college for Spanish because I moved to California and I think it would help me a lot here. I took French because it is such a beautiful language.

Kudos to you! I am sure the behavior of the children in the UK are much the same as the children here in the US, so I applaud you. I really wanted to teach secondary English, mostly middle school age, but after doing student teaching, I decided it was not for me. The teachers are all burnt out and the students are awful. Although I did two years in the Education program at my university, I decided to go for an English degree and a degree in Religious studies. I am ultimately happy with my decision, although neither degree will get me a job without a masters.

Sometimes I wish I would have gone through with my Education degree. I can always go back...

I work, but I don't work nearly enough. I am a part-time high school French teacher. I LOVE it, but having half a job is stressful from a financial standpoint.

Thanks! I took it in high school many, many moons ago and don't remember much, except for a few things here and there. Hopefully my memory will be triggered and I'll remember more.

I'm a development manager for a major enterprise software company. You may have seen my CEO in an Ironman movie.
