The one good thing about training people is that you can teach them to do things YOUR way.

I hate training people too.
I hate to say this, but I get really annoyed that people don't pick up on stuff as fast as I do. If I tell them something, 3, 4 and 5 times, I expect them to get it, especially when it only took me once or it's something I had to self-teach myself because no one ever explained it to me. Plus then you fall into that thing where it's easier to do something yourself than to explain it to someone else....grrr...hate training people.

Tell me about it, I took over from someone who was sick and had left kinda indefinitely... it took me and my bosses wife 3 weeks just to do the filing she had hidden and sort out everything she has messed up.

Then 5 months later she waltzes in with a dr's note to say she is OK and they want me to train her to do things the way I do it because they prefer it... but you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

And now after messing up the office again she has taken lots of time off for dr's appointments and it looks like she is going to be back off work again!

I always wound up training people at every job I've had. I actually kind of like it, and people that I train always tell me I should be a teacher.

I don't mind training people. I have to do it all the time. But I do get frustrated if they don't catch on as fast as I want them to.
I'm a quick learner and I guess I just always expect people to be the same, but I know they're not.

I was always amazed at how many *slow* people there really are!
