Now that the kittens are showing some interest in food, I'd like to supplement a little raw. But where would I find things like beef heart or liver or chicken neck? Around here, we have the major chain grocers, but I don't know of any butcher chops. Would the grocery stores carry these items, do you think? Or do I have to track down a butcher?

you can check the food store most certainly - they often carry these thigns but people never think to look! check out the "soup section" - they carry weird cuts of meat that are meant to stew in the soups.
ask the butcher at the foodstore if they can order for you. one of the natural food stores nearby will order me chicken and turkey necks/backs if i want (which i dont take them up on, but i could). i can also get organ meats at the foodstore. but tracking down a butcher isnt that hard - just get our your phone book/yellow pages or look online. i dont know where you live, but almost everyone i know lives fairly close to SOME sort of butcher if you aren't out in the country
