Default kippers?

when my kitty came back from the vet i was told to give him something light like fish, so i gave him kippers which he really enjoyed, and it seems after eating that hes gone off his usule felix, so i was wondering about putting him permantly on fish, can anyone say if this is a good or bad idea, how much i should give him, what type, ect.

bare in mind hes 20 and his kidneys esspally arnt great

Fish as a permanent diet isn't a good idea.
