As for the losses that are yet to come. You can't focus on that, focus and cherish the time you have left with them and make the most of that.
sent..

They were worth every moment of it. And I will do it again in a heartbeat.

Holding up. Doing what needs to be done around the house, just probably as much as it needs to be done. Taking care of the ones i still have and the fosters. Even though I am becoming convinced that both Gypsy and my OH are conspiring to convince me to keep her.

*hugs* to you, that's got to be rough.

What do you think about keeping Gypsy? Do you think she might help ease the pain?

Just know that a crazy animal lady in Small/Backwards Town Michigan is thinking of you.

Last night I was woke up by the thump of a cat jumping up on the bed. Which is strange because Sherbert, blackJack and Pepper have not woke me up in years with their coming and going. I glanced about and saw Jack curled up next to me just below the spot Sherbert always picked. Pepper was on the clean laundry basket I hadn't put away and Ginger was in her dog bed. After a few moments I reached up and moved the curtain beside my pillow and there was Sherbert!! I stopped breathing for a good three seconds , and I must have made a noise because the cat started and took off out of the room and my OH half woke up. Then my brain kicked in and told the rest of me it was just Archie, my daughter's cat, who never, ever comes into my room. But in the dark, half asleep, for just a moment, It just could have been...

Sigh.. sorry to resurrect this post..but I have been having bad dreams..

I have dreamed that someone defanged Sherbert for reasons I don't know. I have also had a dream recently where some one had wrapped a kitten in a piece of rug and stuffed it in the car, turned out to be Sherbert, but with one side of his face grey and the rest his usual buff color..

So tell me this gets easier..

I don't know you or your love for your now departed furever friend, but you have my empathy. It's so hard to lose someone who is dear and near to you.

Default depressed today

I just read back over this. Thanks everyone for your kind words. Right now I am feeling down and weepy. Tomorrow would have been Shebert's 19th birthday. I was sick last year and didn't get to do anything for him, I wish I could have. Its grey and rainy outside and i am not feeling up to much today.

people around me keep trying to cheer me up but they just make it worse it seems. Most just don't get that he was more then "just a cat" I guess.

Sorry to bring this thread back up but I just had to write a few minutes. I didn't really want to start a new thread on it.

At least you remembered his birthday. Smokey would have been three years old on March 24, and I just let the day slip by without even remembering. It wasn't until a week later that I realized that I missed it. I've been feeling like crap ever since.
