Just a little update on Ben, in now for 8 weeks, she is doing great! She is getting to be very comfortable with her room, out from under the futon alot, with me in the room and out of the room, although she waits for me to sit down before coming over. Initially when I started to pet her, she didn't like it and let me know, but now I let her come to my hand and I can pet her and she loves her head scratched, as long as she comes to my hand - not me moving my hand towards her. But she is more and more comfortable with my hands, so that is what I will be working towards.
All in all, she is doing really good! Sally |

Just a little update on Ben, she is doing very good, I can pet her, scratch her head, even under her chin, when I am sitting down, as long as I don't startle her. She now sleeps out in the open more often (not under the futon), and she likes to sleep on the pillow I sit on when I am with her!! She is more and more comfortable with her surroundings (her room!). Of course, this is after alot of interaction with her, when I am home during the day, which is alot, I don't let more than an hour go by without going in and paying attention to her - sitting with her, and there is the screen door on her room, and I am always talking with her, and so is my husband, and of course my himilayan cat loves to "talk" to her through the door also!! Alot of work, but rewarding when I see the progress! 3 months ago, I couldn't even touch her!!

Ben is now doing pretty good after her surgery to have 4 teeth out, and also a home visit from the vet go give her another anti-biotic and steriod shot for her lip. She seems to be coming along ok.
A "friend" of mine recently said "she has been a pain since you brought her in", I don't think of it that way at all, yes, it has been work, and time consuming, and costly because of the surgery, but I brought her in, and I will do everything I possible can to give her the best life she can have - that's how I think of it!!! You are doing amazing!
Your friend doesn't grasp that these kitties are a member of our family. Little angels that journey with us and give us more than we can ever give back to them.
