Hi! I'm new to the raw food theories and was researching recipes and ingredients - why are there no ground mice recipes? Hare today sells ground whole mice, yet I can't find any recipes for raw food using mice. If the raw food diet is attempting to mimic a mouse (nutritionally speaking), then that seems odd to me.
My only guess is that it's expensive and not always available. Still... weird? Am I missing something? Also, if I were to purchase some of that meat, would it need additives? Could I just feed it to them from the package (warmed)? Thanks in advance! |

I'm guessing it's because if someone has access to mice for feeding, what's the point of grinding them? You have the perfect prey food right there, why not just feed it whole?
If Hare Today has only ground mice but not whole mice, I would imagine supplementing it with taurine and whatever other supplements you usually use for other ground food should suffice. Disclaimer: I feed whole prey and when I did feed ground, it was pre-made and already supplemented, so I have no experience making my own ground raw food. |

There is no need to add any supplements, with the possible exception of salmon oil. Mice are the complete package.
