I see no problem in it. If I need to correct something, I can just as easily quote my original post and create a follow-up post. A former forum I was on a year or so ago did not even allow users to edit their posts. I guess the reasoning was to get people to follow the rules more closely regarding posting of inflammatory language.

As far as not allowing users to delete their posts, I have never been on a forum that allowed that before.
