Default New forum- new cat owners

Why not have a forum specifically for prospective cat owners and barely new cat owners especially new kitten owners for whom its their first cat and are somewhat serious about cat ownership. None of the other forums' description cover this and it would surely be a boon to advertisers - its hard to sell to people who have already got the product that their cat likes- better to supply samples to new cat owners and everyone else would glad to get less advertising directed at them.

The behavior and health sections are the first places new or prospective cat owners flock to. Our members answer all kinds of questions about what to expect, what cat toys are our favorites, medical supplies you should have on hand, whether an adult or kitten may be better for certain situations, etc.

I came here with questions when I was a new cat owner, and also got tons of great advice when adopting kittens later on.

I'm not sure what you mean about samples and less advertising, though. Depending on your membership type, everyone gets the same advertising.

But there's no one place for prospective cat owners and by new I mean just got the cat up to say a week. I'd certainly appreciate thoughts on the resources that available elsewhere on the internet.

I didn't say finding the resources- I said thoughts on those resources e.g. is Cat Breed Selector | Purina.com a good source of information. I am sorry my first post of this thread was a bit waffly- I meant to sell you the idea that advertisers might prefer to sell to a more receptive forum.

I read your post. Several times. And I still don't know what you want.

We have links to many other websites, including cat breed selectors.

You can find most anything you're looking for by using our search function. We even have an "advanced" search function.

We have a constant steady stream of new members all the time who come in with questions about their new cats and get inundated with responses, usually much more help than they anticipated. I'd go out on a limb and say this entire forum caters to new cat owners.

There is not one forum for choosing/ obtaining/ being prepared to have the mininum problems with a kitten particularly. Opinions, thoughts, actual experience etc. that's what forums are for.

I came here when I first got Tuffy as a kitten and received WONDERFUL advice - I for one would not like to have to change forums as he got older JUST because I had him longer than 'as you say - a week' -
