Sad introduction...

Hello everyone. My name is Ricky and my wife and I have 6 amazing cats. Bubba (15), Cera and Little Bit (sisters, 13), Sampson and Lily (brother and sister, 5) and Harley (1).

These little angels have changed our lives. Today, however, I was informed that Bubba has cancer in his kidneys. My heart is broken, and I am finding some comfort on this forum.

Please pray for my wife and I, as this is the first time we have ever gone through this.

You guys sound like awesome cat people. I am a brand-new cat person so I have very little experience, but I wanted to tell you I just went through a terribly harrowing experience with my new little kitten and I know what it did to me emotionally. I can definitely sympathize with how you and your wife must be feeling. When I thought my kitten would surely die, the one thought that kept coming to mind was, "she was lucky to have had a loving home with people who valued and loved her for the time she was here", and your kitty is too. I know you'll know what to do when the time comes...

I'm so sorry to hear about Bubba. I lost my 16 year old cat last year to kidney failure. I can empathize with what you're going through! Hang in there. I pretty much let her eat what she wanted, lie where she wanted, do what she wanted (she actually became more affectionate).

Last year I lost my darling Trixie to cancer - she was over 20. We did exactly the same as Galathiel above and her last months were good for her although it was hard on us. I'm more than willing to pray for you at this time. It was by no means my first time to lose a loved pet but that doesn't make it easier. My thoughts are with you.

so sorry to hear about your little cat, I am going through a bad time myself at the moment and spend most of the time crying, my cat is in the last stages of kidney failure and tomorrow morning I will know if it's time to let go or not...wish you all the luck and hope they will find a miracle for your baby x

Sorry to hear about this. We lost a great cat to feline leukemia a year or so ago. It's not easy but he's in a better place now than suffering.

I am so very sorry to hear about your cat and a cancer diagnosis. You did not say how old the cat is.
Till I had my first cat, I did not understand the, I am beyond attached and happy to be called a cat-lady
My heart goes out to you and the whole family.

I will say a prayer for you and your wife. Please pray for me as well. I am having a hard time with one of my cats attacking the other.

My 17 year old cat had kidney disease with an infection before he died. We went through a lot of treatments including the fluids and antibiotics. Looking back I would have put him to sleep a lot sooner had I known the quality of his life wasn't going to get better. I felt terrible about his suffering for a long time.
