Hello and happy 2017!

My name is Aida and I'm the mother of a super sweet, loving, personable cat named Cricket. I got to know Cricket while I was fostering kittens for the local Humane Society. A terrible person had thrown Cricket and his brothers and sisters into a garbage dumpster! Sadly, Cricket was the only survivor. He came to me when he was only a week or so old and I fed him with a dropper every two hours, 24 hours a day while pulling a full college load of classes! We bonded over the next several weeks and soon I knew I couldn't be parted from him. He has become my very best friend and my savior. I lost my beloved fiancÚ to a brief and completely unexpected illness in January of 2016. If not for Cricket I don't know what would have become of me?! I was so devastated that I didn't think I could go on. But from the first day I got home from the hospital, Cricket has not left my side. He sleeps with me every night and plants himself in my lap whenever I sit still. I love him more than anything and I want him to be healthy & happy. The main reason I joined this forum is to get advice on cat health and care. I'm excited to begin talking to and learning from other cat lovers like myself.

Hi Aida! Goodness, I am so sorry for the loss of your fiance. But I'm glad you had Cricket with you. It sounds like you have a very special relationship with him, not only because he was there as you dealt with your loss but because you raised him from the time he was a teeny kitten. He's a survivor, too.

Looking forward to having you around! Could we see a pic of the little guy?
