    Hi Kaylene,
Echo had Dry FIP. We adopted her from a shelter when she was 3 months old. Her symptoms started a few months later. FIP is a horrible disease and there is no treatment or cure. Hopefully some day there will be.
Thanks for the tip on the book. I'll see if I can find it at the library.

Here is the thread about Echo, from 2 years ago. Everyone on the forum was so helpful and supportive at that time. There is a lot of good info on FIP in this thread and I hope that our experience with Echo can help others who are going through the same thing:

    Hi Judy, thanks for reply!
What happened to Echo? -if you don't mind me asking...?
The book is a little "dark" and i guess it's fantasy but not like lord of the rings style, much less serious :) maybe check at your local library some time if you feel like reading about a speaking cat hero named Echo :)

Hi Jking, I'm writing you because I came across your post about your kitten Echo passing away. I was very sorry to read that, my first cat is only a year old now and I cannot imagine life without him now - as corny as that sounds.
Your kitty's name struck me though as it is the name of the main character in my favorite book, who happens to be a cat (Actually a "crat", which is a normal domestic cat that can speak)! Did you name him after "The Alchemaster's Apprentice" by Walter Moers or is this just a coincidence?
