sad news

How many of you read CatWatch newsletter? The famous cat loving veterinarian Dr James Richards, director of the Cornell Feline Health Center died tragically in April in a motorcycle accident. He swerved his motorcycle in order to avoid hitting a cat and he ended up killing himself and the cat didn't survive either. The article is in the August issue of Cat Fancy magazine. I have read his responses to letters from readers in CatWatch newsletter which I subscribe to regularly and I have an ASPCA Complete Guide to Cats book which he authored. Although I never met the man I was very shocked to read this. He was very famous nationwide for his love and dedication to cats and he died trying to save a cat.

That is very sad. I know there will be those saying he died for nothing (especially since the cat also died), although I doubt it would be anyone on this Forum.

This thread about Dr. Richards was posted right after his accident:

The link to the story in that post is outdated, so if you have a new link to the story, Moggiegirl, maybe you could post it for us

I don't have a link. I just read the article in the August issue of Cat Fancy magazine. I have a subscription so I get magazines early. For more information look for the magazine issue when it comes out. I didn't know this was discussed before.
