Automobile Trip, Securing Cat Food/Water on Flat Surfaces?

Greetings,

Taking off on an automobile trip with the boys.

I have to put the food/water on a flat surface in the back of the suv because of space issues.

I purchased two heavy bowls and some plastic tubs, but I may have to cut the tubs because the sides are to high for the cats to make it over to feed/drink.

I also have to secure the tubs so the food/water doesn't fly around when I come off the interstates, lol.

Is there an easier way to do this?

Thoughts, Input, or Information is Appreciated...

Danke

The cats are not likely to eat or drink very much while you are traveling. I would not worry about having it available at all times, just offer it when you stop for a break.

Do NOT travel with loose food/water in your vehicle. Unless the kitties are seasoned travelers, they will not eat/drink while moving, and if they did...you'd probably be cleaning up vomit.

As the cat is balancing in the car, it could possibly eat food, but I'm certain they would not attempt to put their nose down to bouncing water.

Wait until you stop and then offer food and water.

We moved from the West Coast to the East Coast in 2001. Kitties traveled in a motorhome. During driving, they huddled under a comforter. At night stops when we rested/slept for several hours, they came out to eat, drink and potty.
