Pinky

We cant figure out why Pinky hasnt been adopted. She has been with us for over a year. Yes, she does have a tipped ear. Is that what is stopping people? We trapped her as a feral kitten but soon realized she is a total sweet heart. Please everyone send your good energy & prayers that she find that loving forever home soon. Take a look at the video. Shes so great.

Pinky's beautiful! I don't understand why she has not been adopted.

Wow her ear really is tipped.
I've never seen an ear tipped that much before, we just take a small amount off, basically the point or just cut a triangle shape out of the top.

I don't think that would be a huge problem... cats get adopted all the time that have one eye, one ear, missing limbs so I would see how her being ear tipped would be a problem. Hopefully she finds her home very soon, and when she does it will just make it all the more special.

Why is her ear tipped? What does that mean?

The more people I meet the more I love my cat!

I agree it is tipped too much. If they tipped it a bit we could still tell if it was back in a trap!!! Weve asked them to stop taking so much but it falls on deaf ears alot of the time. Then we have one vet who doesnt want to tip it. I think he is coming around though.

The ear is tipped on cats we are Trap/Neuter/Releasing so if they get in a trap again we can tell they have been fixed. We release them immediately.

You can also tell how many in a colony have been fixed and go after the ones that havent. Sometimes a new one shows up in a colony and youre able to tell right away to get it fixed and shots.

I had a couple people who adopted a cat with a tipped ear. The new families made it a point of telling me how much the tipped ear bothered them.

I don't know why those folks are tipping the ears so much. Especially if they know it reduces a cat's chances of being adopted.
I hope Pinky finds her forever home soon.

I have friends in New Orleans who adopted a beautiful, very smart kitty who had been TNR'd just after Katrina. Stormy's ear is tipped, but just a little. If you're not familiar with tipping, you really have to look and compare it to the other ear to see it's cut a little bit, flat across the tip instead of rounded. But if you know what you're looking for you can tell at a glance.
Stormy has a great forever home with Doug and Marcia, and they (me, too) think his slightly tipped ear gives him 'character'.
Oh, and Lisa, Stormy looks almost like Reyna.
