Thwarting the kitty alarm clock

Petplace.com has a a cat newsletter that I get. Just got one with an article about the kitty who wakes their owner up too early.

I know several people have this problem, so thought I would share the article here.

Wow, Lea-Ann, what a great site!

I'm shocked that Birman's are #7 of top 10 breeds, though, since I've only met one person who was familiar with Birmans.

Brilliant article for 2 reasons:

It pretty much suggests moving to Antarctica

"bring her to your place of work" Oh YES! That would be awesome to have Pegs prowling round the library.

Many bookstores and libraries have resident cats.

Do not respond (in any way) to your cat's dawn-time demands ... ever.
My problem is that Slasher climbs on my chest, sticks his face up against mine and breathes on me. That's really hard to ignore.

It's very warm at night.
Too warm for pyjamas.
Peggy likes to jump on me to wake me up.
I'm not very grippy.
Cats release their claws when they slide.....

This is about L.C. - San Diego's infamous Library Cat (yes, he's on the map, too)

Quote:
The Escondido Public Library's cat, L.C., will be taking an indefinite vacation, the library announced Tuesday.

L.C. (pictured, left) has reportedly received a lot of attention since being named in a $1.5 million claim against the City of Escondido for allegedly attacking a dog last November.

According to library staff, the recent publicity has resulted in many e-mails and visits from people curious to see the famous feline -- including a pair of pit bulls brought by their owners to the front of the library.

"Our mission is to provide excellent library services to our residents, and this situation with L.C. is beginning to take considerable time away from what we need to doing at the library," city librarian Laura Mitchell said.

The cat allegedly attacked a dog last week outside the library's front door.

A previous fight took place last November, when L.C. allegedly attacked "Kimba," an assistance dog for Richard Espinoza.

Espinoza filed a $1.5 million claim against the city, saying that the incident caused him mental anguish.

L.C. will stay with a library employee.

P.S. The lawsuit was dismissed.
