Early morning head butts

So, my hubby normally gets up around four thirty to get ready to go to work. The cats are used to it. I've had this week off. So, this morning, hubby didn't have to get up until five thirty or so (he ended up having the day of ). But, four fifteen rolled around this morning and here comes Gabby. She walks right up to me and starts head butting me, purring up a storm. She loved on me for about forty five minutes before she finally fell asleep. We've been moving lately (packing, lots of boxes) and Gabby has been really weird lately (a little depressed) so it was nice to see her behaving so lovingly. Just needed to share how great my early morning was.

Cats love routine. Everything happens like clockwork in their world. When things get off schedule, or different things intrude, they don't like it. I've been trying to move my feeding to a different room, but they keep going to the old room and don't want to eat in the new room.

Kitty wake-ups are the best possible way to get up! I get up at 5am for work. I love it when one or more of the cats come in at about 4:30am and I get to slowly wake up while petting and hugging them. Best way to start the day!

Omg this is so true !!! My alarm goes off at 5:30 each morning but at 5am almost every morning, both Scooter and Freaky jump up on the bed and start loving on me ... Freaky starts licking my face and Scooter starts crawling all over me Its the best wake-up ever, just wish they would wait until 5:30 LOL

They're just making sure that you don't oversleep, Anne.

Re: Early morning head butts

Every morning between 5:00 and 5:30 am I get a head butt, jumped on from a window perch or used as a race track, running from my ankles to my shoulder, to wake me up and Duchess starts her breakfast dance. Day off? What is that? Duchess is hungry each and every morning at the same time. It is her routine and I love it!!!!!!!

The more people I meet the more I love my cat!

Re: Early morning head butts

head butts are so cute ... i noticed you mentioned the 'depressed' feeling ... Tabitha gets that too (when we move house ... the stress leads to UTIs and thats a whole different story) but i used feliway plug in the walls and that really helps make her relaxed and happy ... just a thought?

Re: Early morning head butts

Yeah, we're (almost) all settled into the new place. Gabby adjusts well for a cat (being more like a dog in truth), and Simba is still being his skiddish self. They'll adjust over time, I'm sure. We're still getting some morning love from Gabby, and even Simba this morning. So, big happy family.
