Cat Tree?

I was wondering what you guys thought of these cat trees. I will probably be buying it for my 3 cats. The cats are about 10--15lbs each.

Or this one

Thanks!

Re: Cat Tree?

I have an armakat tree and LOVE it! For the price, you can't beat them!!

I personally would go for the first one as it has more levels and seems like it would be used a little more. I only speak from my own experience though - my kitty prefers the flat, open surfaces for napping and I feed her in the enclosed cubby otherwise she'd never use it.

of course, with 3 cats you might consider just getting them both

Re: Cat Tree?

I really, REALLY wish they would use adult, regular-sized cats in their ads. It's so hard to tell the sizes of cubbies and flat surfaces.

I'd go with the first one, too.

Re: Cat Tree?

Not sure where you live, but I've gotten most of mine from Craigslist, for a steal. My Armarkat was free (with a kitty) and it's the most sturdy one I have.

Re: Cat Tree?

I'd pick the first one over the second based on my kid's response to their trees (of course yours might be very different). They like flat or curved perches the best. Only a few will use the little cat houses. Very rarely do they use the ladders.

Good luck on finding the perfect tree for your crew.

Re: Cat Tree?

I like the Armarkat's overall design, but the 14"x14" size of the perches puts me off. Arianwen is a good bit longer than 14" from the tip of her nose to the base of her tail. 17"x17" perches would be a better fit for her.

Re: Cat Tree?

My cats (6-18#) will sleep curled up in the top house, I think the big kitties like the snug, enclosed place. They won't use the bottom cubby, except for ambushes so I use it to store their toys. I think the ladders are a great idea for kittens, until they learn how to jump/leap, but I doubt adult cats would use them much.
...my Angelical Cat Tree. My kitties really like the curved perches for napping.

Re: Cat Tree?

Thanks for the post. Found what I wanted to get my cat.
I spoil my cat like crazy, because Lucy is such a good cat.

Think this is the ultimate: (It is much larger) and 100 lbs.
It's got to be stable at 100lbs. It is also 6 inches taller at 82 inches.
And a bit wider in some areas.

What do you think?

Re: Cat Tree?

looks great! one last thing to mention is looking on the armarkat ebay store - the shipping is insane but also ends up being most of the price of the tree - I got mine for much less through ebay than I would have directly from the site!!
