I cannot think of a female cat name

I'm sitting here with my unamed kitten, I cannot think of a name for a girl. I thought she was going to all black, so I was going to call her Tar. But she has a white spot on her throat and a white spot on her lower abdomen.
Part of me thinks I should give her a people name. Little girls need a cute name.

Just wait till she does something funny or cute. i'm sure you will randomly think of a cool name for her.

Re: I cannot think of a female cat name

You could try searching the most popular baby girls' names this year or last year, and see if that inspires you!

When we got Gracie last year we took a while to name her, and thought of a lot of old-fashioned names with a little bit of dignity, since we thought that suited a British shorthair cat - Emma, Sally, Pearl (Purrl), Daisy, Opal, Olivia...We ended up choosing Grace, but then changed it to Gracie because she was a kitten and it seemed like a younger name...

Have fun with it! Fran

Re: I cannot think of a female cat name

Our cats get names but we usually wind up calling them by nicknames.

Finnian -> Marmalade
Silver -> Mousie
Monze -> Mister
The Wanderer -> The Spotted Watermelon or Vanya
Blaze -> Bugaboo
Curly -> Floofy (this nickname has stuck as his 'name' now, instead of Curly)
LuckyDuck -> Louie
Fabarette -> Squirrely-Jo
Shadow -> Sombra (shadow) and/or Pluma (feather)

I like human names also, altho like Heidi said I bet you will come up with numerous nicknames for her. Our Molly Brown is more often called begonia than her "real" name.

I got it! Her name is Kahlua. She is Joker's little sister, from a second litter. They may have the same dad because Kahlua looks exactly like Joker did when I got him. Joker is a classic tuxedo with four white paws, just beautiful. Kahlua is almost (or will be, she's a little charcoal colored right now) all black with a white spot on her throat and lower abdomen.

Re: I cannot think of a female cat name

Sounds like they are beautiful tuxedo kitties.

...I cannot help but wonder if you'll wind up calling her 'Lua.
...and then I wonder if you'd end up calling her Louie like my LuckyDuck! I think that would be hysterical...

My sister has a kitten exactly as you described yours, and she called hers Fizzle. I thought that was so cute!

By the way, greatcatnames.com is a great resource. They have unique names besides the usual Boots, Fluffy, Queenie. I've found Chairman Meow, and Harley, becuase the owner says he purrs so loud he sounds like a Harley going down the road!
