Cool Weather = Hunting Season

For about the past two weeks, Arianwen has been wanting to go out a lot more than she had been. She pounces and charges around the house like a panther, and sometimes stops by the door or a window to flick her tail forward in a "come here!" gesture. When we go out, she hunts with a lot more energy and enthusiasm than when it was warm.
And I think she has been having more successful hunts. She dashes into the bushes at the front of the house, and after a guiet minute, there's a rustling, followed by a mousie squeak. She eats her kill in place, and spares me from seeing the carnage, which I really appreciate.
Do other longhaired kittehs get lots of energy with the cooler temps, or is it just my mini-tiger?

Re: Cool Weather = Hunting Season

Most of our furred friends prefer the cooler weather. Not only is their body temperature higher than ours, but they are also covered in insulating fur. In cooler weather they can be more active with less risk of over-heating. Add to that, the fact that cooler temperatures means smells stay 'down low' longer with less diffussion and are even more enticing.

Temperatures which are cool/cold to us are primo for most cats, dogs and horses.
